Experienced Structural Ironworkers and Pre-Engineered Steel Erectors

General Description:

We are currently searching for an experienced structural ironworkers and pre-engineered steel erectors to provide support and assist in erecting pre-engineered steel buildings. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years in a similar role and a willingness to work in a camp location on a fly in and fly out basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lifting and guiding components into position with tower or hydraulic cranes
  • Working from mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs – boom lifts or scissor lifts) to the structure
  • Working on the structure itself at heights beyond the reach of MEWPs or scaffolding
  • Installing fiberglass insulation and metal cladding on walls and roofs of structures
  • Installing Rigging
  • Hoisting steel, attach cables and/or slings to each piece
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and specifications
  • Following all safety requirements of both the company and the project site
  • Reporting any unsafe working conditions

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Ironworking with Pre-Engineered buildings or conventional steel, ability to follow engineering instructions and plans accurately
  • Able to meet requirements of the pre-employment physical
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • High awareness of Health and Safety Practices
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Fall Protection Training is Mandatory***
  • H2S Alive is Mandatory*

  • Workers must provide their own safety footwear
  • Workers are required to provide their own basic hand tools as listed in the collective agreement
  • Workers must have reliable transportation, or be able to access jobsites

Maintenance / New Construction Millwright

General Description:

Our B.C Division is seeking experienced Journeyman Millwright to join our maintenance team for the upcoming shut down season. The Journeyman Millwright will work as part of a team providing operational repairs and maintenance services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The successful applicant will be highly self-motivated, willing to take on new challenges and experiences, exceed expectations and work well in a collaborative, team environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in a industrial environment, as well as above average trouble-shooting and organizational skills. The successful applicant will be highly self-motivated, willing to take on new challenges and experiences, exceed expectations and work
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes
  • Install, align, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to plan layouts
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, align couplings and belts to precise tolerances;
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years industry experience preferred
  • Journeyman Millwright Certification/Red Seal
  • Able to meet requirements of the pre-employment physical
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to comprehend and troubleshoot mechanical systems

Industrial Carpenters / Apprentices

General Description:

This position is physically demanding and involves exposure to all elements of outdoor work. Hours for this position are based on a standard 44-hour work week with added overtime as required. Successful candidates will be available to work overtime, evenings, weekends and be available for out of town work. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to working safe on our jobsites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Construct, erect, and install wood and engineered formwork systems for columns, walls, suspended slabs, slab on grade and concrete stairs
  • Erect and build scaffolding for access and concrete formwork decks
  • Install anchor bolts and embedded steel for concrete
  • Build hoardings and temporary shelters when required
  • Stripping of formwork and controlled interior and exterior demolition
  • Rough framing, installation of backing and sheet materials
  • Assemble rough timber and steel members with bolts, screws and nails
  • Complete task hazard assessments and maintain a safe work environment
  • General labour duties and cleanup as required
  • May work with or near chemicals, cranes and moving equipment

Qualifications:

  • Have relevant experience in heavy commercial and/or civil concrete construction
  • Be in good health and physically fit
  • Able to meet requirements of the pre-employment physical
  • Journeyman certification considered an asset, but is not required
  • Able to work at heights and balance on platforms, scaffolds and decks
  • Able to work alone, or as part of a team
  • Display good verbal and written communication skills when working with other employees
  • Knowledge in trade related math and basic survey and layout
  • Hardworking and able to readily accept and apply direction from supervisor
  • Hand and finger dexterity for reaching, handling and feeling while working

CWB / B-Pressure Welder’s

General Description:

We are currently searching for an experienced CWB / B-Pressure Welders to provide support and assist in field fabrication. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in a similar role and a willingness to work in a camp location on a fly in and fly out basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years plant and/or construction experience
  • Able to meet requirements of the pre-employment physical
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers’ License
  • Pre-access Drug & Alcohol test
  • Training Required: CSTS-09, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space (full)
  • Valid CWB All position Certificate
  • Valid Alberta B-Pressure Certificate
  • Valid TIG tickets

Qualifications:

  • Able to read and understand blue prints, P&IDs, welding process specifications, piping specifications and QA/QC requirements
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate brazing and soldering equipment
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrate high degree of safety awareness and a commitment to safety (his/hers and others)
  • Maintain positive relations with client and coworkers through effective communication conflict management skills
